Winter paddling
Winter paddling is a beautiful experience, days are short, the air is crisp, the light differs from other seasons and as a bonus there is a noticeable absence of biting insects. . A paddle tour can start with sunrise and end with the sun setting only a few hours later. It really is a magical time of year for the paddler. Winter paddling at night time brings a whole new world with clear skies the stars shine and the northern lights dance. Paddling at low temperatures is high risk but worth it. Below -10C the air is dry and little snow, but above that it is warm enough for snow and the child in me comes to life. Whether paddling through slush, ice fields or in a blizzard, a feeling of exhilaration and cold fingers are guaranteed.
